Not a substitute for care
Midwife Pocket provides informational content and clinical triage guidance based on ACOG and NHS guidelines. It is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
If you think you may be having a medical emergency — bleeding, leaking fluid, a seizure, a baby who is not moving as usual, difficulty breathing, or thoughts of harming yourself — go to maternity triage or call your local emergency number. Do not wait for the chatbot.
ACOG & NHS alignment
Symptom questions, red-flag lists, the 5-1-1 contraction pattern, reduced-movements advice, and student protocols are written to match publicly available ACOG and NHS/NICE maternity guidance.
Midwife Pocket is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or a publisher of ACOG or the NHS. Guidelines change. Your unit’s protocol is the one that governs your care.
Emergency triage protocols
The in-app Emergency button and triage engine flag combinations such as headache plus visual change, right-upper abdominal pain, heavy bleeding, fever with uterine tenderness, and a quiet baby after 24 weeks.
Those flags mean: contact labour and delivery or your midwife now. They do not grade severity for you and they do not dispatch an ambulance.
Student users can rehearse postpartum haemorrhage, eclampsia, and cord prolapse flowcharts in Midwife Academy. Practice is not a licence to treat.
